Nikki Marczak
Chair, Social Justice Committee
Nikki Marczak works on antisemitism research with the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ), including monitoring incidents and discourse, and contributing to the annual antisemitism report. This role builds on her extensive experience spanning policy development, strategy, advocacy and research across areas ranging from human rights, anti-vilification, and genocide prevention to Indigenous and multicultural affairs, and domestic violence policy.
She has held roles in government (State and Commonwealth), the NGO sector, and the academic field. Nikki has a Masters in Holocaust and Genocide Studies and has worked closely with a range of persecuted minority groups including genocide survivors and descendants.
In her previous role as Director of Atrocity Prevention Strategy with The University of Queensland, she led the risk assessment and early warning portfolio, and worked on gender, hate speech and Pacific-based issues.
Nikki is also a Queensland co-representative for the Australian Academic Alliance Against Antisemitism (5A) and a graduate of the 2024 Nahum Goldmann Fellowship leadership program.
The granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, Nikki has been involved in numerous events relating to Holocaust commemoration and education, including as keynote speaker at the 2022 Queensland Kristallnacht Commemoration.
She was co-editor of the Genocide Perspectives series and has contributed to various media and policy outlets.
